Never give up hope. All the girls around the world now know that glass ceilings can break and the impossible is possible. All the mothers, like Shyamala Gopalan Harris, now know that when we believe deeply in our girls and in the ideals of this country, a moment like a first female of color Vice President is possible.
All the Black and brown girls can now see themselves reflected in someone who knocked down walls, fought oppression, and did so on her own terms, with poise, humility, dignity, and integrity.
My soul sang with pride and gratitude the night Vice President-elect Harris addressed the nation. 'While I may be the first woman in this office, I will not be the last.' To every little girl watching: this is a country of possibilities. Dream with ambition.
A big bravo to everyone who voted, and a heartfelt thank you to Stacey Abrams, who helped so many of us use our voices for truth and unity.
