Time
A short reflection on slowing down, sharpening priorities, and what the pandemic taught me about the hours we have.
Every morning when I wake up at 4:30 or 5, the first thoughts focus on the day ahead: school, work, groceries, after-school activities, homework, fitness, blogging, patient calls. The list seems to go on and on.
The pandemic reminded me how precious time really is. During the initial shutdown in NYC, it was a stressful and scary period, but I also felt permission to slow down and focus on keeping my child, myself, and my family safe. For a few weeks, the world seemed to pause.
As the nation reopened, so much of that time seemed to fly away. My reminder to myself, and maybe to you too: build in the pauses on purpose. Time doesn't wait, but it does respond when we make room for what matters most.
